MI CASA, SU CASA

$12.00

“Mi Casa Su Casa” is an issue dedicated to the places where we feel at home; places that we make ours. We invite pieces that uncover family histories, those who have become our family, the constant toggle of staying rooted or transitioning into a community, and a piece of daily life shaking the foundation of what we consider to be shelter.

Whether you’ve lived in a truck or a tent, in a house, or motorhome, these are all forms of housing even if some are criminalized by the same systems in place that leaves people in the street. We dedicate this issue to our unhoused neighbors and mutual aids working tirelessly to help people survive as the city is only concerned with forcefully taking people’s belongings and leaving no option for a safe future. We want to amplify those seeking human-centered solutions that don’t prioritize property over life, because home does not equate property, rather, home is where and who we feel safe with. Home is where we can heal and grow together.

FEATURED ARTISTS:

Alyssa Flores-Tirado, PAiSLEY, Dominic Xalli Anaya Gulaya, Stephanie Flores, Lupe Velez, Jesus Cortez, Anthony Campisi, Lorena Madrigal, Rhiannon Cielos Chavez, MARK TIMOTHY HAYWARD, Genesis Perez, Facundo Rompehuevos, BEE LB, Vera
